New Features of the 2020 Ford Escape

Design

You’ll be able to tell just how significant this redesign is from the exterior of the vehicle. Ford’s design team has gone all out to give the new model a fresh, contemporary appearance. The 2020 Escape will be available with a Panoramic Vista Roof® that lets in light and opens up the cabin.Inside, the seats offer both more headroom and more legroom than in previous versions of the Escape, leading to an altogether more comfortable experience. The second row has a 60/40 split for flexible cargo space, and the seats now slide for easy adjustment.

Technology

A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster brings the new dashboard together, and Available SYNC® 3 technology supports Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ in addition to Waze and Ford+Alexa. To help you stay safe, Ford is offering the new Escape with Ford CoPilot360™ technology. This suite of features includes the following standard systems:
  • Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Auto High-Beam Headlamps
  • Lane-Keeping System
  • Rear View Camera
Other advanced features like Adaptive Cruise Control are also available.

Performance

In addition to standard powertrain options, the 2020 Escape gives drivers a choice of a hybrid or plug-in hybrid propulsion system. Both hybrid models features a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine, while Ford’s EcoBoost® engine brings its reliable performance to gas models. For greater efficiency, the gas-powered Escape is available with Auto Start-Stop Technology. The new Escape is also available with all-wheel drive and an AWD Disconnect feature that helps you save fuel.
